MEMPHIS, TN – Following a sold-out lecture earlier this year, Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson returns to the Orpheum Theatre by popular demand on Wednesday, February 7 at 7pm. Tickets go on sale Thursday, December 21.
Dr. Tyson’s topic for the evening will be “Ten things you should know about the Universe.” The title says it all – covering topics that everyone who is cosmically literate should have at their fingertips.
Tickets go on sale Thursday, December 21 at 10am and will be available for purchase online at the official Orpheum Theatre website, www.orpheum-memphis.com, the Orpheum Box Office (901.525.3000), and Ticketmaster.
About Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson:
Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson was born and raised in New York City where he was educated in the public schools clear through his graduation from the Bronx High School of Science. Tyson went on to earn his BA in Physics from Harvard and his PhD in Astrophysics from Columbia. Tyson’s professional research interests are broad, but include star formation, exploding stars, dwarf galaxies, and the structure of our Milky Way. Recently Tyson served as Executive Editor and on camera Host & Narrator for Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey, the 21st century continuation of Carl Sagan’s landmark television series. Tyson is the fifth head of the world-renowned Hayden Planetarium in New York City and the first occupant of its Frederick P. Rose Directorship. He is also a research associate of the Department of Astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History.
