Middle Tennessee State University’s (MTSU) LGBT+ student organization, MT Lambda, will observe Transgender Day Of Remembrance (TDOR) on Nov. 18 with an evening vigil and guest speaker in front of the Student Union. They will have an open meeting on Nov. 8 for TDOR preparations for anyone wanting to participate.

Resources for LGBT senior citizens: 2.4 million people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) are age 65 or older.
You can feel the support and inspiration in the room. As everyone is watching the love story of Glennon Doyle and Abby Wambach unfold in the pre-recorded video, the room is silent.

The 15th Annual Nashville Black Pride (NBP) was held Oct. 12 – Oct. 15 with various events held throughout the city. This year’s theme was “Stronger Together” and opened Thursday night with an awards dinner and special performance featuring LHIV 2 Zero and Nashville in Harmony (NiH).

Identity can be simple for some but for others it can be exhausting. First, there is the internal struggle one must deal with on a daily basis. Then, there is the added scrutiny and input from all sides- family, friends, co-workers, medical community, social media- the list goes on and on. There is no handbook to help navigate this complex journey.

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. It is recognized on September 10th and this year marks the 15th anniversary of the initiative brought about by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) and endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO).
