Born and raised, in Jackson, Tenn, we meet the songbird born Lauren Pritchard (a.k.a. LOLO). Her talents are well rounded and have been developing since an early age. This is truly no surprise considering the amount of ambition this artist has displayed in not only content but genuine expression through hard work.
At age 16 she had moved to L.A. where she would be cast in the original Broadway production of “Spring Awakening” all while signed to a label and living with THE Presley family. By 18 years of age, she would release music in a contract that she has many times expressed a discontent for. While she was happy to make music, she desired a more authentic representation of who she had been all along rather than the context the label would try keep her in during her time with “Spring Awakening”. And so she would persevere regardless, moving to a strong market for her sound in the U.K. There she would tour all over and still crave something more.
Since day one, her music has reflected raw honesty and a vocal strength comparable to Janis Joplin herself. Working through what would be the end of her “Lauren Pritchard” project, she began to plan and cultivate “LOLO”. What makes the idea of LOLO so intriguing isn’t that it’s an alter ego as much as it is an ‘ultra-ego,’ as her guitarist describes. An extension and hyper focus on who she is naturally. With no need for fabrication she finds herself performing freely and authentically in this project, singing about so much more than the typical female pop rhetoric, she has since expanded her repertoire and claimed her ground.
Under her new contract with D2DC, LOLO has worked alongside and been featured with many great names such as “Fall Out Boy,” “Panic! at the Disco,” and Linda Perry just to name a few. While achieving great notoriety for LOLO’s debut album “In Loving Memory of When I Gave A Shit,” she wouldn’t stop there. She would also go on to write a New York Times raved off Broadway musical called “Songbird” utilizing her past and reclaiming its context.
In 2017 she would share with us her debut acting role in the movie “(Romance) In the digital age,” showcasing not only that she is a force to be reckoned with but a full package of talent. Now we see LOLO in her glory as she tours through Tennessee leading up to a new release. She is accompanied by another strong female artist (Garrison Starr) and together they share empowerment and honest vocal talent. Attending a LOLO show is nothing short of an experience for the books. But know the story of Lauren Pritchard’s rise into LOLO is an experience like nothing else.
