WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today made the following statement about International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which is Monday, January 27:
“Each year, on the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps in 1945, the world remembers some of the darkest days in history by vowing that ‘Never Again’ will we allow such horrors to occur. The U.N. established this day in 2004 as a way for the world to remember the past and to prevent future genocides. I join my fellow Americans, and people around the world, as we pause to remember, reflect and resolve to continue our battle against such intolerance.”
