Blueshift Ensemble and Crosstown Arts are pleased to present the inaugural Continuum Music Festival — an annual three-day festival of collaborations among musicians and artists of diverse genres from Memphis and beyond — from Thursday, August 3 to Sunday, August 5 at Crosstown Arts Gallery (422 N. Cleveland) and story booth (438 N. Cleveland).

The lineup features contemporary chamber music ensembles Nief-Norf of Knoxville and chatterbird of Nashville, as well as Memphis groups Luna Nova Ensemble and Blueshift Ensemble. Those classical performances will be juxtaposed with performances by local blues, rock, and hip-hop artists, like Don Lifted and Rob Jungklas. Thursday’s line-up also features a secret show, the content of which will be revealed to fest-goers as they arrive for the performance.

“Classical music is as alive, vibrant, and diverse as ever,” said Blueshift Ensemble flutist and festival co-organizer Jenny Davis. “We believe that anyone who appreciates any kind of art or music can discover new classical music that speaks to them, even if that person might not consider themselves a classical music aficionado.”

Tickets are $25 per day or $60 for a weekend pass. There is a cash bar. Tickets may be purchased on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/continuum-music-festival-tickets-35151518137

Blueshift Ensemble is a Memphis-based contemporary chamber music ensemble dedicated to bringing artists and audiences together through artistic collaboration. By programming both new and existing classical repertoire alongside multi-genre collaborations, Blueshift aims to connect a wider audience to today’s classical music. The ensemble draws upon Memphis’ uniquely diverse musical heritage by combining classical music with popular music genres such as rock, blues, and soul and featuring local musicians, visual artists, and composers.

Crosstown Arts — founding partner, co-developer, and future tenant of Crosstown Concourse — is a contemporary arts organization dedicated to further cultivating the creative community in Memphis by providing resources and creating opportunities and experiences to inspire, support, and connect a diverse range of creative people, projects, and audiences.
