(GERMANTOWN, TN) Germantown Community Theatre continues its 46th Season in October with HONKY TONK ANGELS, a new jukebox musical packed with Country Music’s finest classic tunes. HONYK TONK ANGELS follows three gutsy gals who are determined to make a better life for themselves by following their dreams all the way to the country capital, Nashville, TN. Featuring over 30 songs by the pioneers of women in country music such as Stand by your Man, 9 to 5, Coal Miner’s Daughter, Rocky Top, These Boots Are Made For Walking and I Will Always Love you.
Since the 1950’s women have broken down the walls of what was initially a male-dominated music scene and shown female icons like Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn rise, often from rural poverty, to dominate the country music charts and achieve huge critical and financial success. Director Leigh Ann Evans brings this hysterical script and songbook to life with the help of local actresses Tamara Wright, Ashley Whitten-Kopera and Courtney Church-Tucker, who are no strangers to the classic tunes themselves. The show also focuses on the country music sound itself, with a stellar six-piece band line up under the Musical Direction of Eileen Kuo with the boot-scootin’ choreography by Leah Barrett.

HONKY TONK ANGELS was written by Ted Swindley, creator of “Always…Patsy Cline” and was originally produced by the American Theatre Company in Tulsa, OK, produced by Kitty Roberts.
