We Danced Through the Decades at The Mystic Krewe of Pegasus Ball 2024
This past Saturday, we joined 300 enthusiastic partygoers at Minglewood Hall for a night of nostalgia and fundraising at The Mystic Krewe of Pegasus Ball. The theme “Dancing Through the Decades” aimed to transport attendees on a musical journey spanning from the 60s to the 2010s.
Farewell to Royalty
As the night marked the end of an era, outgoing King Joe Zeeben and Queen Laurie Wilson Gurley bid farewell to their reign. The event also welcomed the new regents, King Chris Baker and Queen Angel FX (Paul Angel Cootes), whose reign begins April 1st.
Supporting Local Charities
The heart of the event lies in its commitment to community service. The Mystic Krewe of Pegasus has a rich fundraising history for local charities, and this year’s beneficiaries, Friends for All and Tennessee Equality Project, reflect their dedication to supporting vital causes. Over the years, the Krewe has raised an impressive $360,000, with this year’s contributions to be revealed at a check presentation this Spring.
A Night of Entertainment
The stage came alive with performers who skillfully represented each decade. From the groovy tunes of the 60s to the chart-toppers of the 2010s, the diverse musical journey captivated the audience. Special recognition goes to David Winter for a touching solo performance that left a lasting impression. As the night concluded, President Jesse James expressed joy at the community turnout, emphasizing the Krewe’s commitment to inclusivity, enjoyment, and continued charitable efforts.
Cheers to Sponsors and Contributors
The event’s success was made possible by sponsors like Southland Casino Hotel, whose support contributed to the evening’s triumph. Gratitude extends to all attendees, volunteers, and contributors, including this year’s hosts Kym Clark and Trevor Birchett, whose efforts ensured the event’s success.
