The Southeast’s longest-running male impersonator pageant will crown its new king in October!

The 21st Annual Mr. Esquire Pageant will be held Oct. 15 at Play Dance Bar beginning at 7:30 pm. Now in its 21st year, Mr. Esquire is one of the longest running premier pageants in the country. This year’s participants will be wearing their best Havana Nights attire. Categories for the pageant will include sportswear, formal wear, and talent. There will be plenty of special entertainment during this fun-filled evening. The Mr. Esquire Pageant for Male Impersonators just celebrated 20 years with Jordan Allen as the reigning King.
Since coming to Nashville in the ’90s, Mac Huffington, owner of Mac Productions, has become a staple of the Nashville LGBT community thanks to her dedication to many different organizations throughout the Nashville area.
Mac has served as a board member with Nashville Black Pride, Human Rights Campaign, as a coordinator with BASU (formerly known as Sister’s United), and as an off-campus advisor for the Tennessee State University Gay & Straight Alliance.
Through her efforts, Mac has opened up doors for women in the LGBT community. When Mac moved from Chicago to Nashville, she discovered Nashville Pride, Nashville Black Pride and the club scene were primarily for men.
After watching many drag queen pageants, Mac decided there needed to be more for women. She began coordinating the Nashville Pride pageants and then introduced drag kings with Mr. Esquire.
With the help of her partner, Stallion, who owns L.A. Security Inc., Mac Productions was born and has grown over the years into a very prominent and well-recognized drag organization and pageantry system.
Mac Productions has put on numerous performances and events, as well as traveled and performed at several Pride events and pageants throughout the U.S and beyond. The company recently traveled to Canada to perform and participate in the International Drag King Extravaganza.
Mac Productions has added other offerings over the years and is now celebrating 12 years of the Ms. Tennessee Diamond Diva Pageant.
From drag kings and divas to comedians and live singers, Mac’s hard work and dedication has made its mark on the LGBT community.
