The BEER & BAGEL OFF-ROAD RACE is making its way to Memphis! This first-annual run event will feature a unique 4 (ish)-mile course on and off the Wolf River Greenway, starting from the Humphreys Boulevard trailhead. After the race, participants and spectators will gather for a BLOW OUT party with great DJ music, dancing, tailgate games, and photos with Sasquatch! Of course, there will be plenty of bagels and beer. All runners receive a finishers medal, and a race shirt that is everyone’s favorite – a long-sleeve tech shirt with “I’m a Drinker with a Running Problem” printed across the back. The race will be held on Saturday, June 8, at 9:00AM.
The BEER & BAGEL RACE SERIES started twenty-five years ago in the Heartland of America, where every fall, thousands of runners, beer drinkers, and bagel enthusiasts gather in Lincoln, Nebraska to enjoy a good, healthy 4-mile off-road run followed by a fun after-party. Today, the series has spread to multiple states, but every effort is made to keep it local and home-grown. The race in Memphis features local craft beer from Wiseacre Brewing, local craft bagels from Dave’s Bagels. A generous portion of the race proceeds will benefit the Wolf River Conservancy, helping fund their projects and programs throughout the city. Other local event partners include REI Co-op and Breakaway Running.
