Church Health Center poised for Crosstown Concourse move, new activities

The Church Health YMCA at Crosstown will have its grand opening on Saturday, April 1. The public is invited to tour the new facility from 7 am to 6 pm. The Church Health YMCA is located at Crosstown Concourse, 1350 Concourse Ave.

The Memphis Hightailers Bicycle Club is teaming up with Church Health to promote healthy lifestyles at the annual Charles Finney Memorial Ride on Saturday, April 8 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.! Proceeds from the ride will provide a day of service at the Church Health clinic, which provides quality, affordable healthcare for working, uninsured people and their families in Shelby County. Join Carnival Memphis at 7 pm on Saturday, April 22 at Crosstown Concourse, 1350 Concourse Avenue for Krewes for Kids, a festive event that will benefit children’s charities in the Mid-South, including Church Health. Join the Church Health Nutrition staff and Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist Susan W. Warner M.D. on Saturday, April 22 for an interactive CME cooking class. The first module, An Introduction to Culinary Medicine, is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.; the second, Hypertension and Nutrition: Low-Sodium Diets and Flavor Building, is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Each module counts for 4 CME credit hours with completion of online and classroom portions. Since 1988, Church Health has trained people to promote health within their congregations and communities through the Congregational Health Promoters program. Join us on Friday, May 5 from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. for a one-day workshop to learn how you can teach this program to others within your community.
