The 17th annual Dining Out For Life® returns to Nashville on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Area restaurants will participate in Dining Out For Life by donating a generous percentage of the day’s sales from either breakfast, lunch and/or dinner to Nashville CARES. Nashville CARES participation in the national event started in 2003, and has raised more than $1.7 million to fight HIV/AIDS in Middle Tennessee.
In 2018, more than 50 HIV service organizations, across the United States and Canada, partnered with 3,000 participating restaurants, 3,000 volunteers, and 300,000+ diners and raised an astonishing $4.1 million for people living with HIV/AIDS in the United States and Canada. All funds raised through a city’s Dining Out For Life event stay in that city to provide help and hope to people living with or impacted by HIV/AIDS.
This year, recent James Beard nominee and executive chef Margot McCormack, will serve as the celebrity chair for this event. Her French inspired restaurant Margot Café & Bar is located in Five Points in the heart of East Nashville. Chef McCormack has a second restaurant right around the corner, a bustling European style eatery called Marche Artisan Foods.
“Our team at both Margot Café & Bar and Marche Artisan Foods greatly values the important work, compassion and education that Nashville CARES provides to our community and the impact it has made on our friends and neighbors,” said Chef McCormackMargot. “That’s why we have supported Dining Out For Life from the very beginning and will for years to come.”
CARES is expecting as many asover 60 restaurants to participate this year, donating a substantial percentage of their sales for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner to Nashville CARES. “This year we hope to raise $120,000 from this event,” says Natisha Moultry, Nashville CARES Special Events Manager. “We couldn’t do that without the support of these generous restaurants, volunteer hosts and thousands of hungry diners!”
To get involved, all you have to do is gather your family, friends and/or co-workers and head to a local participating restaurant. To view a list of participating restaurants, visit DiningOutForLife.com/Nashville.
