Diabetes Education
(EVERGREEN) Church Health’s free Diabetes Education teaches the basics of diabetes, its role in the body, diabetes medication, chronic disease management and nutrition for diabetics. Anyone may attend this class without registration, but a small snack will be provided for those who preregister. Class is held the second Saturday of each month, 9 am – 12 pm, at 1350 Concourse Ave. Call 901-701-2220 to register.

Stroke Support Group
(EVERGREEN) Church Health is pleased to present Thrive! – a gathering of survivors of stroke and their families. Thrive! meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Church Health Community Room, 1350 Concourse Ave. Through group reflection, social interaction, recreation and movement, we explore how a balanced, healthy life after stroke is within reach. Thrive! is offered by Church Health Physical Rehabilitation and is free to participants and their families. Light refreshments will be provided. To register, please call Kevin Gibson at 901-701-2294. Mental Health First Aid Training
Did you know that you are more likely to encounter someone experiencing an emotional or mental crisis than someone having a heart attack? The good news is that you can help them. Church Health Behavioral Health will present a free eight-hour Mental Health First Aid USA training on Friday, Nov. 22 at Church Health (1350 Concourse Ave.). Registration is required. Church Health hosts 12 Step Sangha meetings lead by Robert Baldwin each Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the Church Health Meditation Chapel, 1350 Concourse Ave. This meditation group is designed especially for individuals in recovery and is open to people with any addiction. Chapel Service

Bible Study-Weekday
A Bible study, led by Tom Fuerst with Bluff City Church, meets each Wednesday 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. through October 30 in the Church Health Chapel. In this Bible study, the group will take a big-picture view of the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible, appreciating the nuances of cultural background. Bible Study-Saturday
Church Health Faith Community Engagement hosts a weekly Bible study each Saturday 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Church Health Chapel. Lead by Pastor Mike England, participants study the rich revelations of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Faithful Families volunteer training
Become a trained volunteer for the Faithful Families program at local churches! All volunteers must attend a two-day training. Dates are Oct. 16, 2019 and Oct. 31, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. All volunteers must be willing to learn how to demo healthy recipes, incorporate physical activity and spiritual teachings to help your congregation move towards better health. Training for people who work in feeding ministries
Do you work up-front in your congregation’s food ministry? Church Health’s Faith Community Engagement and Nutrition teams are teaming up to present Feeding the Flock on Monday, October 21, 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. This free workshop at Church Health will help you strengthen your ministry and make a positive change in the health of those you serve. Whether you plan congregational meals, budget, coordinate volunteers or assist with any other aspect of food ministry, this morning workshop is tailored to the unique needs of food ministries and the dedicated people who operate them. The Mystic

Arts reception
Celebrated chef Kelly English and painter Lisa Williamson have learned a few tricks from one others’ trades, and now they invite you to experience a treat for the senses! English’s and Williamson’s show at Church Health show will open with an artist reception on Wednesday, October 9 from 6- 8 p.m. Tickets are available for a very special tastings party in the Church Health Nutrition Hub, just steps from the art show that same night, 6-7 pm. The $25 ticket provides guests unique hors d’oeuvres created by the pair of artists. Tickets must be purchased in advance; at-the-door ticketing is not available. English’s and Williamson’s collaborative works will remain on display October 9-18 in the Church Health Welcome Center, 1350 Concourse Ave. Proceeds from show sales and events will benefit Church Health.

Party Off the Plaza, feat. Robert Randolph and His All-Star Band
Presented by nexAir, Church Health’s biggest party of the year is part concert, part foodie experience, part wine pull like-no-other! This year, we’re taking the party off the Crosstown Concourse plaza and moving it indoors to the Crosstown Theater. The Art of Dinner: Autumn Vegetable Dinner Party
There’s something beautiful about the balance of healthy and delicious food. In celebration of that beauty, Church Health presents The Art of Dinner on Friday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. in the Church Health Nutrition Hub, 1350 Concourse Ave. In this interactive cooking class, Chef Joshua House will guide you through a four-course vegetarian menu including:
