LGBTQ+ Family Conference Continues in 2020 – With a Modern Twist

Washington, D.C. – Rainbow Families, one of the nation’s largest non-profit organizations providing LGBTQ+ families and prospective parents with education programs, support groups, empowerment and opportunities to connect, announced their Annual Family Conference will continue this year as a virtual program, August 8 and 9 2020.

“We are truly excited about this. Our conference had been scheduled to take place on the campus of the Washington National Cathedral on May 16,” explained Executive Director Darren Vance. “For a moment we considered canceling outright, but as we listened to our community, we heard how they wanted this conference, perhaps now more than ever. And now, we can reach people nationwide with the virtual format.”

A two-day program, the conference offers over 25 valuable workshops for all stages of life including pathways to parenthood, race and diversity in our families, guidance for parents, even financial, legal and other important topics.

Additionally, Ellen Kahn will receive the organization’s Hero of the Year award in recognition for years of supporting and fighting for the LGBTQ+ family community.

Finally, the virtual conference will provide a robust way for attendees to engage with businesses and service providers who work with the LGBTQ+ community.
