Meghan Linsey, who recently released her new album Bold Like a Lion, has released a video for its current single, Mr. Homewrecker, and debuted it on her Facebook page.
“It’s about this woman finding out that her husband’s cheating, and going through that whole thing, you know, when you find out someone is cheating on you,” Linsey said.
The perspective, she said, is usually to blame the person a spouse is cheating with, but this song is pinning the blame of the person who cheated in the relationship.
The simply shot video, which features only an emotional Linsey in an empty bathtub, was directed by Nashville photographer Jeremy Ryan.
“I called Jeremy and said, ‘Look. I just want to shoot this in a dirty bathroom somewhere.’” she laughed. “I just felt like it needed to be just dirty and raw. It’s such an emotional song.”
“We didn’t do it in a dirty bathroom like we planned, but he set up a bathroom with lighting and we made it feel that dark, moody feeling.”
The video is currently available to view on her Facebook page.
“It’s so nice to get new music out and have an actual visual,” she said. “It’s cool to finally see it come to life.”
Linsey will emcee the Taste event presented by the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce this Sunday at Nissan Stadium. Taste is the sixth annual benefit to raise funds to support the Chamber Foundation. The event will feature more than two dozen food and beverage vendors including restaurants, bars, brewers, caterers and more. Proceeds will provide education, resources and advocacy or LGBT business owners and professionals.
