Nashville In Harmony Celebrates 15 Years

by Joey Amato

Nashville in Harmony, Nashville’s city chorus for people who support the advancement of rights for all LGBTQ+ people., has announced the program and further details for Making Spirits Bright. The concert takes place Dec. 4 at Langford Auditorium and will commemorate the organization’s 15-year anniversary.

Making Spirits Bright continues Nashville in Harmony’s tradition of hosting an annual holiday performance that creates a safe and welcoming environment for patrons to celebrate their community and themselves. This year’s concert includes a variety of well-known holiday favorites including “Jingle Bells,” “Deck the Halls” and “All I Want for Christmas is You,” as well as a few surprises along the way. The concert will feature performances from Nashville in Harmony and Major Minors, NiH’s group for young people, ages 12-18, to be themselves without apology.

“Nashville in Harmony is proud to celebrate the profound impact the chorus has had over the last 15 years of using music to build community and create social change,” states Don Schlosser, Artistic Director of Nashville in Harmony. “Not only have we received recognition as a top-performing organization in the arts landscape of Music City, but we have also contributed to the advancement of equity and acceptance of LGBTQ+ people, and we have modeled a community of inclusion that inspires and transforms lives.”

Schlosser adds: “We’re designing Making Spirits Bright to get everyone in the spirit!” says Don Schlosser, Artistic Director of Nashville in Harmony. “Expect lots of energy and sparkle. We promise to brighten your spirits as we explore an array of holiday pieces.”

The concert will also feature a retrospect of the organization’s early years and testimonials from some of the founding members.

Tickets are $30 advance and $35 day of show.
