(no subject) apparel Launches Online Store with Handmade Collection Celebrating Inclusivity

by Faith Holt

(no subject) apparel, an online apparel store selling contemporary, mindful, unisex designs, launches their online storefront on Wednesday, March 3. LGBTQ+ designers and owners, Faith Holt (she/her) and Morgan Jergens (she/her), started the business out of their basement with one mission in mind – to create clothing that made people feel comfortable and empowered – inside and out.

Holt, a Nashville native, found her way into the Nashville LGBTQIA+ community in 2017, two years after coming out, through RNBW Nash, which hosts LGBTQ+ writers’ rounds. Through RNBW Nash, Tribe (a Nashville gay bar) became a second home. It was through the Nashville music scene that Holt and Jergens met in 2019.

In that same year, Holt’s email to a friend with a list of ‘all the reasons she’s not replaceable’ sparked the idea for her first piece. She decided to print this email list on a shirt as a gift. The idea of (no subject) apparel was born.

“Ultimately when we started to discuss the idea, I wanted to create clothing that connects by sharing thought-provoking messages. If you’re going to say something on a shirt, it might as well put some good into the world,” Holt said.

During all steps of the line creation, (no subject) apparel considers what makes each individual so incredible and works to ensure representation and inclusion for all through their handmade apparel. From styles including thoughtful quotes like “Fear is not the reality” to their “GAYBY” and “pronouns not optional” collection, (no subject) apparel centers itself as a brand for everyone, queers and allies alike.

Starting March 3, the line will be exclusively available on Etsy.com as ‘(no subject) apparel.’ The launch will be celebrated that evening with a virtual event on Instagram LIVE at 7 p.m. CST and will include giveaways, live music, and more!

(no subject) apparel will be hosting regular live streams with musicians and members of the community for virtual social gatherings with people ranging from writers, podcast hosts, mixologists, and chefs to painters, yoga instructors, and historians. These live stream events will be held every other Thursday at 7:00 PM CST.

Holt and Jergens say they are excited to foster a sense of community through their live stream events and one day look forward to hosting in-person shows and events once again. The couple promotes self-love and expression of identity through their other items in their line of products including shirts, prints, and stickers.
