Shelby Farms Park Conservancy is bringing back a Memphis tradition: the Star-Spangled Celebration. This festival will take place Saturday, July 1 and will feature live music and family fun with a grand finale of a 60-minute Laser Light Spectacular over Hyde Lake.

“Shelby Farms Park Conservancy is excited to bring back the Star-Spangled Celebration. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate Independence Day than with a day full of music and family fun at the water’s edge,” said Natalie Wilson, Senior Manager of Visitor Experience, Shelby Farms Park Conservancy.

“The Laser Light Spectacular, the event’s grand finale, is right in line with the Park’s mission of sustainability,” said Wilson. “Laser light shows are not loud so they will not disturb wildlife, nor will they create litter within the Park’s landscapes. We wanted to make a visually impactful example of sustainability even during the 4th of July holiday which is traditionally focused on events which include fireworks.”

The Laser Light Spectacular, will be choreographed to “Sounds of Memphis” performed by the 77-member Memphis Wind Symphony (memphiswindsymphony.org). The laser show will be produced by Connecticut based CT Lasers, one of the nation’s top laser light show companies. The show will have high powered, full-color luminance professional laser light show projection. Producing lasers that are capable of 16 million different colors with laser beams up to 38,000 points per second, the Star-Spangled Celebration Laser Light Spectacular will be the largest laser show in the state of Tennessee.

“I am excited to be a part of helping Shelby Farms Park launch the Star-Spangled Celebration,” said Marc Arotsky, president, CT Lasers. “We are honored to bring a world-class laser show to a world-class green space like Shelby Farms Park.”

The event will also feature the Inaugural Family Slider Contest which will be judged by Master Chef Junior Chef Logan and other local celebrities.

The Star-Spangled Celebration will include live music, water inflatables for kids, an array of food trucks, wine and beer gardens, eco-art, cooling stations and more.

Tickets go on sale to Shelby Farms Park Members on May 15 and to the general public on May 16. Tickets may be purchased via Ticketmaster or at the Lake’s Edge Gift Shop located in the Park’s First Tennessee Foundation Visitor Center.
