Sunday Pride Cookout at Dru’s Place a Lively Success

There was a great turn out for the Mid-South Pride Cookout at Dru’s Place last Sunday afternoon with a good crowd of folks out enjoying the new patio and the amazing weather! Volunteers were grilling up hamburgers and hotdogs, and passing out stout Jell-O shots–the proceeds from $7 plates and $1 shots all benefitting Mid-South Pride.

By the end of the cookout Mid-South Pride had raised over $450 and we had consumed far too many calories. More importantly, Pride team member Alexandra Hare stressed that “more than fundraisers, our cookouts are really about spending time with the community and showing love to the business owners who work so hard to provide LGBT-friendly places for us in Memphis.” Thanks to owner of Dru’s Place Tami Montgomery and all who came out and supported each other. Hope to see everyone at the next event!
