Upper Cumberland Pride Promises a Bigger Event

Story and Photo By Melissa Espiritu

Upper Cumberland Pride is gearing up for their annual event to be held on June 2, 2018. This year’s event will focus on the themes of community, family, and education.  The organization has partnered with area organizations and built partnerships and friendships to bolster the event. They targeted local merchants and various community organizations and invited them to be vendors. While many of the favorite vendors from past years will be there, the organizers are excited about the new vendors who will be making an appearance. Vendor spaces are still available and the application is located at www.ucpride.org.

Among the new additions to this year’s event is the involvement of Chattanooga Cares, who will be on site with their mobile HIV and STI testing unit. United Church of Cookeville will be hosting a children’s area and the Algood branch of the Putnam County Library will have LGBT+ literature available. Upper Cumberland Pride will also be expanding ongoing activities throughout the year, so stay tuned!

Upper Cumberland Pride will be held on June 2, 2018 from 12-6 p.m.
