Announcing the 30th Anniversary Nashville AIDS Walk and the Nashville CARES’ Community Health Festival

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville CARES is proud to announce the 30 th Anniversary of the Nashville AIDS Walk. The Nashville AIDS Walk is Tennessee’s oldest continuously running HIV/AIDS fundraiser and one of the city’s highest profile events. Nashville CARES is also introducing its first Community Health Festival inviting local health-related businesses and providers to participate. This year’s goal is to raise $200,000 to help end the HIV epidemic in Middle Tennessee.

This unique and interactive event is set for
Saturday, October 2, 2021
9:00 AM [Registration] 10:00 AM [Event Begins]

The event will take place in a custom, virtual space that replicates Metro’s Public Square Park where the in-person event is typically held. Once inside this unique and interactive platform, attendees can enjoy live entertainment, visit walk teams throughout Nashville, interact at health vendor tents, participate in festival activities including prizes, awards and more! There will also be small in-person satellite groups scattered throughout the Greater Nashville Area who will live-stream into the virtual event as they do a one-mile walk through their neighborhood. Attendees can virtually visit the satellite groups and cheer them on as they walk.

“The Nashville AIDS Walk raises money to help Nashville CARES work toward our mission of ending the HIV epidemic in Middle Tennessee,” said Ken Hinman, Director of Development. “It is also a great opportunity for us to share the message that HIV is still an issue in our local community.”

To participate register today at nashvilleaidswalk.com.

Nashville CARES relies on support from the community to provide services for those living with or at risk of HIV. For information on sponsoring the event or participating as a health vendor contact events@nashvillecares.org.

Our Mission is to end the HIV epidemic in Middle Tennessee. We work to achieve this through education, advocacy and support for those at risk for or living with HIV.

Our Vision is a community where HIV infections are rare, and when they do occur, everyone with HIV/AIDS has access to the care, treatment and support to achieve optimal health and self-sufficiency without stigma or discrimination.

Last year Nashville CARES served more than 50,000 Middle Tennesseans living with or at risk of HIV including: HIV prevention education to more than 29,000 youth and adults, more than 10,000 FREE confidential HIV tests, and essential support services to 3,400 men, women and children living with the disease.
