ADAM LAMBERT “VELVET”
Adam Lambert has done it once again. Taking a step away from touring as the lead singer of Queen (Queen + Adam Lambert), Lambert has released his fourth studio album, “Velvet.” The new single “Velvet,” o the album of the same name, reminds us why we fell in love with him way back on American Idol. Upbeat and easy to dance
to beat, Velvet will be a great addition to your “getting ready” playlist!
JOHN TUCKER “THE WAYS”
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, John Tucker moved to Nashville to pursue a career as a songwriter. Tucker notes influences ranging from Tracy Chapman, Joni Mitchell, Solange, to Anderson Paak, and this influence is clear in his music. His current release, “The Ways” is a good song to dance to or part of your soundtrack for a drive down a winding road.
MXMTOON “NO FAKER”
Maia, who goes by Mxmtoon professionally, is a Chinese- American who identifies as “a young bisexual woman of color from a family of immigrants.” She began self-releasing songs on YouTube as Mxmtoon in 2017 and her 2018 self- released EP, “plum blossom,” was recorded on her laptop in her parents’ guest bedroom. “No Faker,” from her new EP, “Dawn” is a head bopper with its ukulele and catchy hook. It’s sure to stick with you all summer.
JOJO “LONELY HEARTS”
JoJo has been a fan favorite since 2004 when she put out her debut single “Leave (Get Out)”. Fast forward 16 years later and she is giving us “Lonely Hearts” of which JoJo says, “This song continues the journey of self-love that I’ve been on…Realizing that while temptation and self-doubt may arise, at the end of the day, choosing self-preservation over toxic relationships is what I’m doing in my life right now.”
