PFLAG Franklin Announces Franklin Pride Festival

PFLAG Franklin, along with the Tennessee Equality Project, will host a one-day pride festival to celebrate equality and build community on Sunday, June 7, at the Franklin Theater on Main Street in Franklin.

While the event is still in the planning stages, they have planned for a children’s hour at the Franklin Theater, a screening of documentaries from local and national filmmakers, and cabaret-style performances from local performers who have a passion for LGBTQ+ issues.

PFLAG Franklin said “We firmly believe that acceptance of all benefits the entire community, whether or not one identifies as LGBTQ+. PFLAG Franklin endeavors to provide a safe place for people who want to learn more, for people who are seeking acceptance, and to hold what can be an uncomfortable dialogue. We are confident that this event will give people who want to know more about the LGBTQ+ community a place to start”.
