Full Steam Ahead: The Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival Enters its 4th Year

This year marks the fourth year the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival descends upon Franklin, Tenn. From the ground up, festival co-founder and Better Than Ezra frontman, Kevin Griffin, has watched as his baby has gone from crawling to walking, to running full steam ahead. Last year’s headliner, Justin Timberlake, signed on as a partner and co-producer last year. It would be hard to deny that this partnership helped Griffin’s dream move from local Americana/country/rock-n-roll festival to being named one of Paste magazine’s “Best Music Festivals of 2018”.

What You Can Expect

This year’s festival will feature 60+ artists spanning genres from rock-n-roll to gospel. The festival has grown to six stages full of entertainment, local crafts and wares, and of course, food. This is not just a music festival, but a well-rounded cultural experience. The Farm to Turntable food truck park debuted last year and will be making an appearance again this year. If you need a break from the sun, you can check out the Americana Music Triangle Experience. In its third year, the Music Triangle allows festival-goers to engage with ambassadors from world-famous music landmarks and premier tourism destinations.

The festival is family-friendly and there are activities for even the smallest music lovers. The Lil’ Pilgrims stage hosts a variety of children’s entertainment and in The Mare Barn Theater, they have the opportunity to participate in kid improv, puppet and magic shows, and even a songwriting workshop for kids.

The Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival takes place September 22 & 23 at The Park at Harlinsdale in Franklin, Tenn. Will you #MakeThePilgrimage?
